Can Intermittent Fasting Reverse Type 2 Diabetes?
Intermittent fasting is a diet plan which has gained quite some popularity in the recent times. It is a diet plan that can not just help in weight loss, but can also cleanse your body of toxins and restore good health. Intermittent fasting is done in a way where you are required to eat only during certain hours in a day and fast for the rest of the day. Usually, people follow intermittent fasting by eating during the day and fasting from evening to night. For instance, you are doing intermittent fasting if you eat an early dinner, say around 7 or 8 pm, and then have you next meal at around 7 am, 9 am or 11 am etc. The fasting period in this weight loss plan can be of 12 hours, 14 hours or 16 hours, depending on what suits your body. During the fasting period, you are not supposed to eat or drink anything apart from plain water.
This kind of eating pattern, which lifestyle coach Luke Coutinho hails as “way of life” and “lifestyle”, can have magical effects on your overall health. However, there are certain do’s and don’ts of this diet that you need to be careful about. If you have certain health complications, you should consult your doctor before going ahead with this diet.
