Walking your dog is essential to your pet’s physical health and yours, too. When your dog tugs at the leash or sprints toward a squirrel, you’re engaging your core, testing your balance, and challenging coordination and grip strength to stay upright, explains Brianna Steinhilber, TODAY health editor and certified personal trainer.
