Are These Healthy Foods for Weight Loss On Your Plate?

Losing weight doesn’t have to mean depriving yourself of delicious, nourishing food. If weight loss is one of your health goals, these foods for healthy weight loss deserve a spot on your plate. These dietitian-recommended foods are high in fiber and protein, both of which can keep you feeling full.

“Lean proteins are a great choice for weight loss since they help with satiety while helping to preserve muscle mass,” explains Jaclyn Fleisher, R.D.N., founder of JBF Nutrition. “In tandem with lean protein, high-fiber fruits and vegetables are a low-calorie, filling, and nutrient-dense food group that I encourage eating about 35 grams per day if weight loss is a health goal.” She also notes that you should drink plenty of water when you’re increasing your fiber intake, as this can minimize bloating or GI discomfort. Ahead, dietitians share the foods to add to your shopping list if you’re looking to lose weight.
