Want a Healthy Heart? Avoid These Foods!

It’s no secret that some foods are better for us than others. There are some items that specifically wreak havoc on your heart, but thankfully a doctor has listed all the things you should avoid if you want to boost your cardiovascular health.

Dr Lott, an acupuncturist based in New York City, boasts more than 300,000 followers on TikTok, where he regularly shares healthy eating advice. In one of his popular clips, he addresses “foods that can damage your heart”.

First on his list was “canned vegetables”, which are bad for your heart as they often contain added salt and sugar. Opting for fresh fruit and vegetables is always the best way to go. On a similar note, Dr Lott also warned against “canned soup”. Canned soup often contains lots of sodium, which can increase your risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, and stroke.
